looking for gymnastics instructor in LA

Hello,

I have called a million places that won't give me an instructor because I am over 18. I am willing to pay well, and I am interested in learning how to do back hand springs, then maybe some other stuff too. I am thin and athletic, it shouldnt be too hard. Let me know if you can help me out!

Hi! I am new to gymnastics and the like and I am looking for a thick mat to put underneath my aerial hoop at home. Does anyone have any favorite places/ideas to get one inexpensively ... especially in the LA area?! Thanks for any tips.

Gymnastics and acrobatics

Hi I was wondering what the difference is between gymnastics and acrobatics.

I started formal dance training a year ago and would eventually like to incorporate flips and hand stands. Are there beginning adult classes for either in the Bay Area?

Building your own parallel bars

Anyone know a resource on how to build your own practice parallel bars? Seem like it might be relatively easy to build something workable for a lot cheapter than you can buy them for. Like anything it helps to get input from someone whos done it before. I googled "making your own parallel bars" but nothing came up.

Anyone done it before?

I'm from NY and was a gymnast up through HS. Would love to return to the sport and toyed with the idea a few years ago when I started taking adult classes at Chelsea Piers.

Balance beam

My daughter is really desperate for a balance beam for Christmas. It's the only thing she's asking Santa for. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas? What idiot decided a 4x6 should be 3.5 inches wide, anyway?? I know that had to be a MAN! (JK)

Any ideas at all would be appreciated. The ones I've found on the web tend to be in the thousand dollar range, and while she means the world to me, I'm not ready to drop that kind of cash on a hobby yet!
